Ok, he's not really mine, he's my girlfriends newest addition. This little guy wandered into my girlfriends work last week. When she and the manager went to check on him, they found he had a prolapsed rectum and was acting like he was in terrible pain. She immediately fell in love, so they called animal control and had him transported to a local vet. She informed animal control that she wanted to adopt him if the vet was able to surgically correct the poor guys injury. Sure enough, surgery went fine, so we went today to sign the adoption papers. Tomorrow morning he gets his microchip ID and he gets neutered, then he comes home tomorrow afternoon. Poor little guy had lived a rough life....he's supposedly about 18 months old but only 40 lbs. and the vet said the prolapse was due to a bad case of worms and a virus. He just doesn't know how spoiled he is going to be after tomorrow. Folks....meet Orlando....

There has been a running joke on NN for a while that because I have 5 pit bulls, I'm the only person that never has to deal with Jehovah's Witnesses, door to door salesmen and other such un-announced visitors. This has finally failed me. I checked the mail before going to work and noticed a hand written letter among the bills and advertisements. I open it and find a handwritten letter that begins....."Dear neighbor, We were unable to visit because of your posted signs, but we did not want you to miss out on the message...". Tucked inside were brochures from the local Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall. My nefarious plan has been foiled! They have finally figured out how to circumvent the guard dogs....ROFLMAO!

In perspective, the only two dogs that can actually come into contact with someone in the yard are my black lab Moose and my Australian Shepherd Sebastian. Moose is shy and avoids strange people....and short, chubby, fuzzy Sebastian just doesn't look like he's going to chew your extremities off if you wander too close. As a matter of fact, the last strange person that showed up at the house made it to the front door with no problems.


.....granted, Sebastian did hump his leg after I walked out to ask why he was there.......

Not really impressed with my attempts at the "Steve Erkle" look....but here they are anyway....

Literally....this is Terra, one of my two miniature pit bulls....pocket pitties, they're called. She had a trip to the vet today for a rabies shot and getting spayed. I think she's still mad at me......

The sign on the building also says this is a barber shop/beauty salon.

Didn't get a pic...but the town's police department is housed in one of those tiny mobile homes like contractors use as an office on a construction site.
