I submitted a picture 5 hrs ago and it finally just posted... on the 3rd page. Anybody know why?

Yes! All pics have to be modded before appearing on site, been that way for a while now,

Probably because a bunch of pics were reviewed and approved at the same time.

Photos don't appear to be going to the gallery's first page when mods approve them. I'm guessing if it took a long time like your's they're going on when you posted the photo.

from what i saw, pictures were being posted in chunks during that 5 hrs. i've seen it happen before. could be a glitch. are photos moderated in order of submission?

I don't moderate in order. I go thru and accept the ones that are clearly legit and leave the doubtful ones till last if I have the time

The reason that pics are posted "in chunks' is that mods don't wait for individual pics to be posted, but check and approve a number of them each time they check the "new upload approval" page

Last time I checked (and I check fairly regularly when I'm on line), there were 56 pics awaiting approval.

sk8 you have to admit that cameras are exceptional anymore. It takes time to weed out the web pics everyone hates from the truly amazing amateur photographers out there

Can't say I do it with every submission or nothing would ever get approved. I just go with a gut feeling and check when I think I need to. Often I my suspicions are proven wrong

and sometimes I am proven wrong after the fact which is why regular members are so helpful if they click report when there is a legitimate reason

actually you reinforced my concerns but my original status was a legit question. as for the phony profiles some are still being accepted while some of us (paying members) wait in NN limbo as doubtful
