Wednesday, December 25, 2013, 3:27:00 AM- Almost that time.
The magic night is almost here.
Yep, most are busy with family and friends already, or staying up later to finish the assembly of toys, (Do parents still do that?) or rushing to a Mass or service, setting the food aside for later.
There's a few working, and a few here because, well, it beats TV.

But since Christmas is really for the young, and young at heart, may your efforts for any little ones around you be well rewarded with a smile or a happy hug.
So I'll just wish all of you a Very Merry Christmas!
Your religion or beliefs about it do not matter. May you have a wonderful day and a better tomorrow.

Thursday, November 28, 2013, 8:27:26 PM- Happy Thanksgiving!
May you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
May the hassles of setting it up be worth it. Both at the table and around the table.
Should the meal be a culinary disaster in your eyes, remember that it isn't what was served, but who shared the day with you.
Of course, sometimes that's where the problem is, isn't it? smile
But make the most of it. Share your smile.

Sunday, February 24, 2013, 4:23:40 PM- Simple Truth Number 2
When a lady is pregnant, all her friends touch her stomach and say:
Congratulations!"
But none of them then come and touch the man's penis and say: "Good Job!"

Moral of the story:
Hard work is never appreciated.

Basic Lessons of Life Our Parents or Teachers Never Taught Us.

Simple Truth 1:

Lovers help each other undress before sex.
However, after sex, they always dress on their own.
Moral of the story:
In life, no one helps you once you're screwed.

Wednesday, January 2, 2013, 6:23:20 AM- Thanks, but no thanks.
I don't sex-text, drunk-dial, or write anything on Facebook.
I am so-o-o-o glad I don't appear or use Facebook. (I hope.)
Thanks, but no thanks.
OK. I'm no angel. - So I do think, (think!) I remember I called someone I probably shouldn't have called. -At a probably bad time. I think. But that was some thirty years ago, or more. Heheheh...
There might be some more recent, incriminating evidence asomewhere.
But it wouldn't cause me to lose my job, or much else.
Hell, I'm not working now. (Grin)
But some folks might be having second thoughts tomorrow.

Tuesday, December 25, 2012, 3:14:06 AM- Yep.
Yes, My best wishes that you spend this Christmas happy, warm in the love of those that you love and love you.
If for some reason you're unable to do that physically, -there is after all, a lot of bad weather around, - may you be in their thoughts and you in theirs.
And if there are those around that you aren't crazy about, because "it's extended family time, you have to be nice," well....fuck them. Smile at them and confuse them.

May you spend it with those that love you, and you love. And/or family.
And may those circles overlap. (grin).

Wednesday, November 7, 2012, 5:12:04 PM- On the bright side...
On the bad side: There are good people still cold, feeling dirty and hungry with no power or clean water. - Not just only in the Northeast of the US.
On the bright side:
My friends and family affected by Sandy are alive; - staying with friends because their homes are partly destroyed, damaged or without basic utilities. But they are alive.
Also on the bright side, I don't have to lower the US flag in front as a result from the election. Maybe we can unclog Congress yet. But that's not a sure thing.
And...well, getting laid has never been a sure thing either. But at least more likely. (grin).

"bright sides ard slways a good thing. I have friends in NYC and they are Ok just trying to dry out. Our compsny has offices in NJ they took a bit of a hit. Just on the equipment no people thank goodness.
On the subject of getting laid those chances have evaporated here in Missouri. lol"

Wednesday, July 25, 2012, 5:02:10 PM- Living in a cave
I knew I lived in a cave!
I had heard of Romen noodle soups before, but thought that it was a great invention to take on long hikes because of the weight of food.
Someone had mentioned they had eaten them and enjoyed them, so a box (not a pack) of them was picked up a while back.
A few days later, a quick meal was needed and that's what I served.
My first time, I thought: "OK, not a gourmet meal, but serves the purpose if you've been hiking for eight hours and are tired. Filling, more or less tasty, warm and easy to fix"
I think that's when I first heard someone calling it "Broke food."
The second time I used the noodles, I added good meatballs and served toasted bread with it.
Forwarding a few months, I have often passed the big box of Romen noodles and asked myself when the hell are we going to use all that?
Well, when the dinner didn't come together the other day (don't ask); it was a good opportunity for the noodles to shine once again.
Since there was plenty of left overs, this morning I had the leftover -now a bit-soggy noodles and meatballs- for brunch . I added some grated parmessan and made the comment:
"Umm, that's pretty good!"
The responding comment was again: "Broke food."
OK.
I do remember eating corn starch cooked with milk, sugar and a banana or apple thrown in for breakfast because there was no money to buy other food when I was a kid.
And true, there were two small meatballs in my brunch this morning. And there's food in the freezer. So I am doing much better in the years since.
But it does remind me that here, in the United States, there are kids and grown-ups whose supper tonight will be Romen noodles. No meatballs included.
