Saturday, September 19, 2009, 6:47:56 AM- Gym Tonight
I did the second half of my new routine tonight. I need to be doing the whole thing on one night, but we'll get to that. Monday I did the arms, shoulders, and chest part. Tonight was legs and back. Both nights I did a core routine. Damn. I ran into an old trainer of mine there who spotted me on the squats and bent-over barbell rows. He talked me into more weight and tweaked my form. (OK, I haven't really been weight lifting since like March.) I broke out a real nice sweat, had my shirt soaked. The other cool thing with the core workout is my abs are hardening up again; they got flabby with disuse. I still have my gut, but it looks different already. This plus the running program, gonna drop the pounds again. And I'm totally on track for the half-marathon in November.

"Step-wise is always best and especially if you've been away from it for a while. Cliche I know, but persistence pays off. Good luck with your plan.

Now, if it took squats and you bent over for your old trainer to notice you, is he a trainer-with-benefits ;] ?"
