Monday, February 26, 2024, 8:36:31 PM- Mother nature reminder

Highs today and tomorrow around 70 (F) degrees.

I just bought some window tinting today.

I know it's only February,

but it pays to plan ahead when you have east facing windows.

Along with my blackout curtains, I should be well covered

(pun intended)

when the time comes along.

... drinking and driving for two reasons:

1. I was getting tired of going to bars and being the oldest guy there. To me, it made me look like I had a drinking problem.

2. Working afternoons, I got tired of being followed home by the police... especially when I hadn't had anything to drink and was just going home from work.

I may have one or two drinks a week now and I guarantee you I won't get behind the wheel when I do imbibe.

I figure I was lucky for a long time to not get pulled over and I didn't want to press my luck.

Last night I re-watched an old favorite film: 'The Razor's Edge', staring Tyrone Power.

The movie is about finding yourself,

and realizing that you can't be happy unless you love yourself.

The message hits home with me -

No matter how much I had,

I was never truly happy.

Once I looked into myself and overcame my own demons,

I became happy and at peace.

I hope someday everyone can have that, too.

I just read where you can gauge your health by your walking gait.

The slower you walk, the more apt you are to sickness.

I have always walked at a quicker gait -

mainly because I didn't have a car and had to walk everywhere.

Especially in the winter.

Doesn't make me healthier...

I just don't like to dawdle, that's all.

We had a snow prediction Friday of 2 to 3 inches,

so of course we had over 5.

While I was clearing said snow from my car I had a thought -

I wasn't happy getting 5 inches, but if I were a woman who thought she was getting 2 to 3 inches and received over 5 inches,

wouldn't that make me happy?
