Monday, February 28, 2011, 2:49:33 AM- Explorer...Take II
Ok, I was wrong about the brakes. When she got back from church (yes, my g/f the professed Wiccan goes to church...go figure) I had her pump the brakes while I crawled around under the truck. Master cylinder is fine....the drivers side caliper decided to self destruct (leaks when ya pump the brakes but ya can't see it when there's no line pressure). About $50 for a caliper and new pads and the Explorer is drivable again!
even so, she's still scared of it and still getting the Pathfinder. Went and looked at the Pathfinder earlier...gotta find a passenger fender, front bumper, headlight and marker light to make it legal sad

Sunday, February 27, 2011, 6:48:48 PM- that damn Explorer......
After almost 2 weeks, the mud under her truck has dried enough I can chip it off. I've been under the fucking truck for an hour now and can't find a busted brake line or leak anywhere.

Looks like it's time to replace the master cylinder.

Friday, February 25, 2011, 6:33:10 PM- still breaking stuff...lol
Ok, actually I didn't break anything...one of the dogs did. Let 'em out at 4:30 this morning so they could attend to business before I went to work. We came back in and a moth or something followed us. Storm is amused by bugs and mice...she loves to chase 'em. Anyway, I'm in the kitchen contemplating breakfast when I hear CRASH! Seems the moth landed on the drapes and Storm went to catch it....breaking the window in the process. Had to seal the window with cardboard and duct tape while I went to work and planned to leave work and get new glass cut.
Now for the other funny part. We were at work today sealing the concrete floors so they can paint all the BS ISO lines everywhere. We got everything cleaned and mopped, ready for sealer...but we don't have any. when the supervisor finally shows up at 8 A.M., we explained the problem. He comes back from the tool crib with two 5 gallon buckets of floor sealer. Two coats on the floor and we've killed the 10 gallons, so he goes to look for more. According to the tool crib guys, they had almost 60 gallons of the stuff. Found out, the guys from the transfer press line had hoarded it all....they had been hiding it in one of the semi-trailers backed up to the loading docks. Well, they fucked up. They hid it this morning in the wrong trailer....about the time they went to get another can, the trailer was pulling out to deliver parts to our plant in Tennessee. hope the driver doesn't get pulled over...the trailer didn't have a Haz-Mat placard displayed...and the drivers aren't Haz-Mat certified tongue

Short ending, I got out of work early...window is fixed. Have a good weekend y'all.

Monday, February 21, 2011, 1:29:41 PM- what else can I break?
Well, I'm just not having a good week as far as the cars go. Added my Mustang to the list of disabled vehicles in the driveway. Seems that a rubber seal popped out and I was losing a quart of oil just commuting back and forth to work each day. Found the problem Saturday...and naturally, none of the local parts stores had the part I needed. Gotta order parts today, so the car is dead at least until next weekend.
Figured I'd try to get the Explorer cleaned up yesterday so I could start working on it. The brakes are mushy enough now I can barely move it around the yard...and the garden hose won't even think about budging all the caked up mud under the damn thing. Gotta go to the car wash to clean it so I can fix it...but gotta fix it so I can get it to the car wash....grrrrrr.

Fuck it. Soon as the weather warms up, I think I'll buy a fuckin' motorcycle...lol

Friday, February 18, 2011, 11:57:29 PM- I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack
Hi y'all. Had to take a little un-planned break. My Valentines day gift was the girlfriend calling me at lunch and telling me she'd just wrecked her truck. Luckily, she's fine (except for a pulled muscle), there was no one else involved and the truck isn't even damaged.

On the down side, I now have a Ford Explorer in the driveway that's covered in mud and has no brakes.

Friday, February 11, 2011, 1:49:55 AM- house guest
Sammy the traveling dog stopped by earlier. Had a half a bowl of Alpo, peed on the fence, irritated the outside dogs...and then headed home.

He's got a sense of humor like some NN members I know....lmao

Tuesday, February 8, 2011, 11:04:33 PM- kricket was right....
I was being used. I found out that poor abandoned Sam actually belongs to a neighbor...he just stopped by my house for a snack....lmao

...and in the midst of playing catch with the kids Saturday, I found what was left of Moose's leather collar....which was the d-ring that ya attach the leash to. It still had his name tag and rabies tag on it...lol. As for the leather itself....can't find a scrap of it anywhere.

If the damn things weren't likely to choke 'em, I'd get chain choke collars for all the fuzzy heathens....MAYBE they wouldn't eat those....

Saturday, February 5, 2011, 9:10:14 PM- just one more....
I seem to have another dog. A stray has been nosing around for the past few days....earlier, we found out he was quite friendly. Took him a bowl of Alpo with some leftover beans and rice mixed in...instant happy dog!

Folks....meet Sam...

looks like Golden Retriever and Boxer mixed.

another 3 day weekend!!!!

...so naturally, it's fuckin' raining sad

oh well...go to the vets office, get another duplicate rabies tag for Moose, then hit PetSmart and get him another collar and name tag. I'll try a studded collar like Linus and Lucy's this time....they don't seem to be as chewable tongue
