Monday, December 16, 2013, 6:58:53 PM- What a voice!
Jay Black from Jay and the Americans. One of three guys named Jay who were lead singers at one time or another of this 60's group. Jay Black sang all but one of their hit records. What a wonderful voice, and such range! I've always loved this song: The group is back together, and they sound as good as ever. They even found another "Jay" who sounds like Mr. Black! ~

We recieved over 6 inches of snow in the last 21 hours. So of course I went out today, humming or singing this classic wherever I went. Yeah, I'm all packed in where it's warm now. Let it snow!

Although today rock has many genres, the first song to make number one for the year didn't occur until 1956. Elvis Presley dominated the top 20 with 5 hits, and here is the first rock and roll number one for the year, that started a revolution... Rock on, folks! ~

This song has been stuck in my head all day... I'm passing it on in the hopes it will leave my brain alone. Sorry! Drastic measures and all that.

Sunday, December 8, 2013, 10:55:13 PM- John Lennon 1940-1980
It's hard to believe that John would have been 73 today had he lived. I still remember exactly where I was when I heard the news of his death: I was driving home from work, and the radio dj broke into a Beatle's song to relay the sad news. I had to pull over, I was so shaken. Only 40, and was just making his comeback from self-imposed retirement. John often said that he felt he would be assasinated by a deranged fan some day. Watch the movie 'Nowhere Boy' sometime. It's about John's teen years before The Beatles. Excellent movie. This is my favorite John Lennon song, written while he was with The Beatles: R.I.P. John. ~

Thursday, December 5, 2013, 7:01:55 PM- I like it...
A lady at work had on a new scent. It was wonderful! I asked her what it was and she told me "blueberry sparkle lotion". I told her the name reminded me of a classic song. She looked puzzled, so I started singing 'Blueberry Hill' by Fats Domino. She was even more bewildered when I told her that the song is now her theme song. She walked away with a "thanks, I think" look on her face. Don't mess with someone who has over 50 years of music stored in his head. lol
