turns out the "add friend" button is not visible in mobile, just desktop web

how do I add friends? i know I can follow people, but how about adding them?
Just go to their profile page and under their profile pic, it should give you some options, one of them being add friend

But make sure that they accept friend requests without chatting first, a lot of people also prefer if you ask first, no unsolicited fr, read profiles first so you don't get denied, good luck
