Very nice, been growing in polypots for years, never tried the cloth type, over here, my tomatoes have to be grown in a greenhouse, we just do not get the weather.

Thank you, I thought it might give other people some ideas on growing things a bit differently. Julia, there's tomato, basil and jalapeños. Tc, it's amazing what can be built with things being tossed out. The corner brackets were from window shades I ripped out when we bought the house. (I try to not toss anything I might be able to use in the future) Dignitea, my biggest problem here is keeping things shaded enough and not letting those bags dry out. Location is key!

We did similar here in japan. Very convenient! We didn’t keep ours high enough off the ground and slugs were a problem 😥

GollyGi, we wanted this close to waist level so there's no bending over.

you could use weed matting and no bags, but at least with that method you can replace the growing soil

You absolutely could use weed fabric, but she got a deal and those bags. I built the bench specifically for them. I have enough scrap lumber to throw another one together. I might make it a bit deeper and skip the bags in that one.
